Ryan Murphy, one of the imaginative geniuses behind anthology series American Horror Story (AHS), has officially teased the title and theme of season nine. It appears that the newest season is titled 1984 and, if the promo is any indication, will pay homage to popular 80s slasher films.

It has already been announced that Evan Peters, a fan favorite who has starred in AHS since season one aired in 2011, will not be returning for season nine. While other favorites Sarah Paulson and Billy Eichner are heavily speculated to return, they have not been officially confirmed. Emma Roberts has been confirmed to return, as well as Olympian Gus Kenworthy.

Historically, AHS has aired in September or October of each year. While there is no release date for this season yet, it is likely it will air around the same time.

American Horror Story airs on FX at 10 p.m EST. Watch Ryan’s 1984 teaser below!
