Universal Studios Hollywood Plans New ‘Secret Life of Pets’ Inspired Ride
In 2016, The Secret Life of Pets answered the ultimate question every pet owner asks themselves: “What do pets do when we aren’t home?” The family friendly movie was so successful that not only is there a sequel in the works, but Universal Studios Hollywood is adding a new ride inspired by the two films.
“The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!” is set to open in 2020. On a quest to find their forever homes, guests on this fully immersive ride will take on the role of stray puppies in New York City, where they will encounter familiar faces such as Max, Gidget, Snowball, Chloe, and Duke, along with many other furry friends.
Karen Irwin, President and COO of Universal Studios Hollywood, expressed her excitement in a press release:
We are thrilled to be able to bring another exciting Illumination movie-based ride to our guests. “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!” will capture the essence of the popular film and invite our guests to live vicariously through some of their favorite characters as they embark on a one-of-a-kind experience only available at Universal Studios Hollywood.
As guests race along a track in vehicles, they will embark on a journey blending live, dimensional, and animated characters with realistic media in New York City as they head toward the Pet Adoption event and the ultimate happy ending.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 will arrive in theaters this summer on June 7. For more information about visiting Universal Studios Hollywood and the new “Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!” ride, be sure to check out their website.
