Podcast ‘The Angel of Vine’ to Include Misha Collins, Joe Manganiello and Alan Tudyk
Misha Collins thrilled Supernatural fans by announcing via Twitter his involvement in The Angel of Vine, a fictional true crime podcast. The first episode was released November 14th and is titled “Answers in the Attic.”
The podcast stars Joe Manganiello as Hank Briggs, and other stars participating include Constance Zimmer (House of Cards) as Phylis Briggs-Turner and Camilla Luddington (Grey’s Anatomy) as Beth Turner.
Collins will voice Adler Harrison in a future episode, though it is unclear how many episodes he will be a part of. Created by Ryan Martz and Oliver Vaquer, who also receives writing credit, the podcast will release a new episode each Wednesday until Jan. 16, 2019, totaling ten episodes in all.
The Stitcher site describes the podcast by highlighting the story of a “present day journalist [who] uncovers the audio tapes of a 1950s private eye who cracked the greatest unsolved murder mystery Hollywood has ever known… and didn’t tell a soul.”
In an interview with Sam Davidson, Manganiello describes the experience as being similar to a film shoot:
The script was such a great actor’s piece that we didn’t want to stop and start. Each take was its own unique scene with its own nuances because it was two actors sitting across the table from each other going at it. I’ve shot whole animated films over a year’s time and never met my co-stars until the premiere, so, this was completely different because of the complexity and layers of the material.
Collins shared a picture with fans to drum up excitement for this new venture.
This crime podcast is so noir, even the sound booths were in black & white. @JoeManganiello @OfficialMolina @ConstanceZimmer @AlanTudyk @camilluddington @realmikecolter @angelofvine #AngelofVine@ApplePodcasts: https://t.co/x6ZTVvhHYw@Stitcher: https://t.co/DR665vxs0c pic.twitter.com/bLbihTPAsh
