This week is shaping up to be a great one for Prodigal Son fans! First, FOX announced that season 2 will premiere on January 12 along with an intriguing season 2 synopsis that has fans guessing what could be in store for the Whitly’s and Malcolm’s NYPD team.

FOX has now released several new key art images posted across various social media platforms. First, fans were treated to a pair of white dress shoes in a puddle of blood via the Prodigal Son twitter account! Of note is the faint image of Martin Whitly in the blood. Not ominous at all, right?

The account has also been outfitted with a new logo sporting an all white background as well as the below header image featuring our favorite NYPD consultant, Malcolm Bright, and Martin Whitly over his shoulder in a splatter of blood. Dare we say he looks a lot like… a devil on Malcolm’s shoulder?

Finally we have the full image below.

This one gives us the new season tag line, “Killer instincts run in the family.” Given the season finale, it’s a chilling thought that more death might be in the Whitly family’s future. It’s also worth noting the choice of a white suit for Malcolm and all white surroundings, which usually represents innocence. We know he isn’t responsible for the huge final twist of season 1, but his feet are literally in the puddle of blood. Can he avoid following in his father’s (bloody) footsteps? Martin is constantly telling Malcolm that they are the same, but we certainly that proves to be false.

Season two of Prodigal Son premieres Tuesday, January 12 on FOX at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. C.
