Photos: The Devil Wears Prada at Marathon Music Works in Nashville

The Devil Wears Prada brought their Eternal Tour to Marathon Music Works in Nashville, TN on November 6, 2024.  Crisscrossing the US to celebrate almost two decades making music, they brought along Silent Planet, Like Moths to Flames, SeeYouSpaceCowboy and greyhaven along for the party.

The night kicked off with greyhaven who brought their blend of metal to Music City which included good solid screams and crisp guitar sounds for their short opening set. The crowd surfing started immediately as the early crowd got into the music and started warming up for the night ahead.

Next up for the night was SeeYouSpaceCowboy. Bursting to the stage proclaiming “It’s a hardcore show now (expletive)!”, it was obvious this band was coming to take no prisoners. There was no stopping this band. The energy level that they fed onto the stage was met by the crowd in spades.  With a good mix of clean vocals and screams, the sonic stylings of this group show why they were a good fit for this tour.

Like Moths to Flames took the stage next. Boasting a slightly heavier sound than the two bands before, this band was ready to keep the party going. Lead singer Chris Roetter continuously encouraged the crowd to jump and surf throughout the set, while never staying in one spot long himself. Late into the set, he let the crowd know that his mother was in attendance and led the crowd in a very enthusiastic “HI MOM!” which he felt was “Pretty (expletive) cool”. They played songs both new and old, and no doubt made more than a few new fans.

Next up was a crowd favorite, Silent Planet.  The metalcore band took the stage with their signature blend of progressive metal utilizing not only the impressive lighting setup, but also the venue’s massive LED screens to project images to complete the audience’s experience. Much like the rest of the bands of the night, there was no shortage of energy from the stage- and the crowd had no problem feeding it right back. There were plenty of fans in attendance as you could hear plenty of people singing along to songs such as “Collider”,  and “Dreamwalker”.  They even played a currently unreleased song, which the crowd thoroughly enjoyed.

Finally The Devil Wears Prada took the stage.  They came to a stage that was illuminated with tube LED lights and their emblem illuminated at the rear and smoke gently rolling in to create an ambience for the audience. You know when TDWP visits, they aren’t messing around and this night was no exception.  Playing a setlist full of absolute bangers both old and new, they had something for every version of TDWP fan that was in attendance. They played favorites such as “Danger:Wildman”, “Watchtower” and one of my personal favorites, “Salt”.  During several points in the night, they encouraged crowd surfers and were met with a sea of people floating through the air headed towards the stage. It was a sight to behold.  There were other times when the circle pit was live and going.  You could tell that everyone was there to have a good time.  It is always a party at a TDWP show.  They closed out the night with “Hey John, What’s Your Name Again” and a massive confetti cannon blast that covered the crowd in little paper pieces.

It is always a good night with the TDWP tour rolls into town, and on this last Wednesday night- that tradition held true.  This tour continues on until early December. Check out their gallery below.
