Dollywood’s Great Pumpkin LumiNights Nominated for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award

Dollywood’s Great Pumpkin LumiNights, one of the region’s premiere harvest-time events, has been nominated as part of USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards for Best Theme Park Halloween Event. The contest, which now is live, runs through Monday, Aug 26 at noon ET. Winners will be unveiled on Friday, Sept 6.

Fans of the exciting new Smoky Mountain tradition can vote now through Monday, Aug 26 at noon ET. Voters are encouraged to vote each day from each of their devices. Competition is fierce, so Dollywood fans should vote early and often to show their support!

Dollywood’s Harvest Festival presented by Humana (Sept 27-Nov 2) provides fabulous fall family fun with the glow of thousands of carved pumpkins throughout the park. Wander through displays throughout Dollywood’s Timber Canyon, Wilderness Pass and upper Craftsman’s Valley areas.

In addition to the pumpkin displays, the Wildwood Tree tells a Smoky Mountain harvest story multiple times each evening. The Plaza at Wilderness Pass also serves as a main centerpiece for the event with an area for character interaction, additional displays and a 40 ft. tall pumpkin tree.

Random Acts and Dogwood Events have a huge announcement! They have announced a special benefit concert which will take place on September 30, in New York City, NY, right after the Supernatural Convention in New Jersey. The event will take place at Rockwood Music Hall.

‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 5 Trailer Reveals Two New Faces

Exciting news Peaky Blinders fans! The newest trailer for Peaky Blinders highly anticipated fifth season is out now and fans may have spotted a couple new faces!

Me Before You star Sam Claflin, who played Will Traynor along side Emilia Clarke in the drama, and Anya Taylor-Joy who played Casey Cooke in Split and Glass are the two newest additions to the cast.

There is no information  yet on the character Taylor-Joy will play, however Claflin will be playing a character named Oswald Mosley in the new season.

Peaky Blinders is set in Britain in 1919 after the first world war. Thomas Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy is a returning solider who forms a gang called Peaky Blinders who are one of the most powerful gangs in Britain following The Great War. The show follows Thomas and his family as he works to move up in the world at all costs. You can find the first four seasons of Peaky Blinders on Netflix.

Rainbow Rowell Announces U.S. Tour Dates for ‘Wayward Son’

Rainbow Rowell is hitting the road! The bestselling YA author just announced U.S. tour dates for her upcoming novel Wayward Son. The book is a sequel to Carry On, and will continue to follow the three main characters Simon Snow, Baz, and Penelope. Wayward Son releases in the U.S. on Sept 24.

Rowell is a New York Times bestselling author who primarily writes contemporary young adult fiction. Her books include Carry On, Fangirl, Eleanor & Park, Wayward Son, and Landline. She is also currently writing Runaways for Marvel Comics, and will release a graphic novel at the end of August with Faith Erin Hicks titled Pumpkinheads.

The FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention has made VIP photo ops and autographs for Tom Holland available for purchase. Holland is best known for his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel franchise. He will be at the convention Friday, Sept 6 and Saturday, Sept 7. His photo ops are $225 each and autographs are $225 each. You can purchase tickets on the convention website.

FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention runs September 5-7 at the Salt Palace Convention Center.

First Teaser for ‘Looking for Alaska’ TV Series Released

An adaptation of John Green’s first novel, Looking for Alaska, has been in the works for almost ten years. Problems with distributors, studios and other things have delayed the process, but it was finally picked up by Hulu and it was announced that it would be turned into an eight-episode limited series to air in October of this year.

The novel tells the story of Miles Halter, who arrives at a new school and meets the mysterious Alaska, with whom he falls in love. They become friends and with some other students from the school, they play pranks and party together, until a tragic event tests their friendship and also their knowledge about each other’s lives. It is, like other John Green works, a coming-of-age novel which deals with many themes important to teenagers. Furthermore, it also addresses an important topic — suicide.

In the adaptation, Miles will be played by Charlie Plummer, who has appeared on Boardwalk Empire, and Alaska will be played by Kristine Froseth, who recently appeared in Netflix’s The Society.

The teaser released last weekend shows the different characters from the book and their most memorable quotes, the most-quoted one probably being “I go to seek a great perhaps”. In the teaser, the atmosphere is clearly melancholic and mysterious, showing the mood of the TV adaptation. All episodes will be available on Hulu on October 18 and you can check out the teaser below!

Author Tom Ryan recently announced that his newly published YA thriller, Keep This To Yourself, is going to be an audiobook. The novel will be narrated by the award winning actor who specializes in voiceover, Michael Crouch for Dreamscape Media.

The 22nd annual Wizard World Chicago will take place August 22-25 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, and we now know some of the amazing creators that will populate Artist Alley!

Industry veterans Christopher Priest (Black Panther, Batman), Carl Potts (Venom, Punisher), Stuart Sayger (G.I.
