As reported by Deadline, the director of the critically acclaimed Netflix series Unorthodox, Maria Schrader, has another project in the works which recently wrapped production — a German-language film entitled Ich bin dein Mensch (I Am Your Human).
In addition to directing, Schrader also co-wrote the script alongside Jan Schombourg, which pulls from elements of author Emma Braslavsky’s story of the same name.
Dan Stevens (Legion, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga) stars in I Am Your Human, which is a love story set in the near future that explores “questions of love, longing and what makes a human being human.” It follows a scientist, portrayed by Maren Eggert, who is “confronted with a ‘partnership robot’ against her will.” The robot in question is voiced by Stevens.
Other cast members include the likes of Sandra Hüller, Hans Löw, Wolfgang Hübsch, Annika Meier, Falilou Seck and Jürgen Tarrach.
