Interview: Johnny Yong Bosch & Sarah Roach Talk ‘TRIGUN STARGAZE’

Set two and a half years after TRIGUN STAMPEDE and the Lost JuLai tragedy, TRIGUN STARGAZE is the final installment of Studio Orange’s anime adaptation of the beloved space western series.

TRIGUN STAMPEDE and TRIGUN STARGAZE follow a joyful gunslinging pacifist, Vash the Stampede (and the $$60 billion bounty on his head). However, rookie reporter Meryl Stryfe and her jaded veteran partner soon discover that Vash isn’t quite the outlaw they were expecting to find. But the real threat is something far more heinous: Vash’s evil twin brother, Millions Knives.

Nerds & Beyond caught up with the English voice cast of TRIGUN STARGAZE ahead of the finale, including Johnny Yong Bosch (Vash the Stampede) and Sarah Roach (Meryl Stryfe).

In the interview, Bosch, who also voiced Vash in Madhouse’s 90s TRIGUN anime adaptation (the English dub dates back to 2003), reflects on what it has been like to portray this new iteration of Vash’s story from start to finish after all these years.

Bosch and Roach discuss their experiences working on the series, and they also answer a very important question: what character would you trust to help you survive in the TRIGUN universe?

Based on the manga series by Yasuhiro Nightow, TRIGUN STARGAZE is animated by Studio Orange and directed by Masako Sato, with series composition by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and character designs by Kiyotaka Oshiyama.

TRIGUN STAMPEDE and TRIGUN STARGAZE are available to stream on Crunchyroll.

The TRIGUN STARGAZE finale will premiere on Saturday, March 28, while the English dubbed finale episode will follow on April 11 at 7 a.m. PT.
