At the beginning of this month, Cobi released the upbeat dance tune “Queen of the Damned (feat. La Doña).” Today, he’s ending the month with a second, more mellow song titled “Shadows.”
Armed with just his voice and a guitar, Cobi sings about the darkness within himself (and us) but it explores in a way that doesn’t sound dark or hopeless. He also includes lyrics about trying to find light that must be there if shadows are too. According to him, “‘Shadows’ is an expression of my own inner shadow that I’ve grappled to understand.”
