Prime Video has made Christmas arrive early for fans of The Boys, as they dropped the first trailer for the fifth and final season. They also announced that season 5 will premiere on April 8, 2026.
In the trailer, we get shots of some of our favorite characters set to “Renegade” by Styx (if you’re a Supernatural fan, you definitely raised your eyebrow at the song choice). We also get a look at Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy as Homelander looks upon him.
Then, we get the first glimpse of Jared Padalecki’s still-unknown character, but in the shot, you can see Soldier Boy and Homelander behind him. You see him again later on in the trailer, with… some blood/bodily fluids on him.
It’s a trailer that definitely gets you excited for the new season.
The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Jessie T. Usher, and Karen Fukuhara. it was created by Eric Kripke.
Here’s the synopsis from Prime Video:
It’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people.
