Maomao and Jinshi will return in a third season of The Apothecary Diaries!
The announcement came immediately following the airing of the final episode of the second season today alongside a short teaser clip.
Season 3 will take us beyond the walls of the rear palace as plagues and war threaten the emperor’s realm and beyond. More mysteries are afoot as deeply held secrets continue to unravel.
No release date for the third season has been announced.
The Apothecary Diaries began as a light novel series, written by Natsu Hyuuga and illustrated by Touco Shino. Later, a manga adaptation from Nekokurage began serialization. Both are still ongoing and available in print and digitally, with advanced chapters of the manga available on Square Enix’s app Manga UP!. TOHO Animation and OLM produce the anime series.
Seasons 1 and 2 of The Apothecary Diaries are available on Crunchyroll in subtitled and dubbed formats.
