‘Crunchyroll Manga’ App Coming This Year
Crunchyroll is making its way back to the digital manga market.
Following the retirement of the brand’s original manga service back in 2023, which ran for a decade, Crunchyroll announced the arrival of an all-new, standalone app during Sony Group Corporation’s press conference at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.
Crunchyroll Manga, which is due to launch later this year on iOS and Android (debuting in the U.S. and Canada), will make it easier than ever for fans to read brand-new and beloved titles from multiple top publishers all in one place. The app will be offered as a premium add-on for Crunchyroll memberships. A web browser integration is also in the works as well.
“Crunchyroll Manga will be a premiere online manga app that carries catalogs from renowned publishers, offering fans unparalleled access to the visionary works that inspire the anime we love,” said Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll. “As we strengthen partnerships in this exciting new venture, we aim to add even more value to the Crunchyroll membership, complementing our vast anime library, Crunchyroll Game Vault, and extensive selection of products in the Crunchyroll Store.”
The app is set to debut in English, though Crunchyroll has confirmed there are plans to increase language options in the future. A vast array of stories across diverse genres will be available, including iconic titles and current fan favorites.
