Matt Cohen Launches IndieGoGo for ‘Public Domain’ Animated Series
Matt Cohen has just launched a new IndieGoGo campaign for Public Domain, an animated TV series that spoofs, “intellectual property and iconic characters.”
Cohen is most known for his role as young John Winchester on Supernatural, as Dr. Griffin Munro on ABC’s General Hospital, and as a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight. He’s also an accomplished director, having directed his short, Mama Bear, which won numerous film festival awards. He also directed an episode of Supernatural in its final season, season 15, episode 15 titled, “Gimme Shelter”.
Here’s more about the project from IndieGoGo:
The regulars of the Hollywood bar “Public Domain” share their experiences and lives with each other while drinking or working at the bar where everybody is a once popular character that has fallen into the public domain. Together, they wait for their opportunity to be rediscovered and rebooted by Tinseltown.
What does that mean – think Cheers meets Bob’s Burgers – but with a sea of famous, and infamous, characters!
Imagine a cast of characters that you don’t have to get to know. You’ve already spent your entire lives with them. They include WENDY DARLING (Peter Pan), DOROTHY (Wizard of Oz), SANTA, SHERLOCK HOLMES, QUASIMODO, HERCULES, SLEEPING BEAUTY, KING KONG, TARZAN, CTHULHU, LITTLE MERMAID, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and dozens of others.
There are a variety of perks listed based on how much you donate. You can read the pilot, get Matt Cohen’s Naughty Xmas Card, get Public Domain stickers, Thank You Credit, Matt Cohen signed photo, Matt’s Holiday Karaoke Video, a personal shoutout video, limited t-shirt, Skype with Matt, cast signed poster, voice a character, and much more.
Matt has also announced that some familiar Supernatural cast members will be voicing characters on the project — starting with Richard Speight, Jr. and Rob Benedict being announced on the IndieGoGo page!
