Nominations for the 2023 Game Awards, the show’s 10th year, have been announced.
Two of this year’s most recognized titles are sequels — Alan Wake 2 from Remedy Entertainment and Baldur’s Gate 3 from Larian Studios — who brought in the most nominations with eight each, including the highly coveted Game of the Year. Rounding out the nominees in that particular category are also franchise entries: Resident Evil 4 from Capcom, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom both from Nintendo.
Nintendo is this year’s most nominated publisher with 15 nominations, followed by Sony Interactive Entertainment/PlayStation with 13, Xbox with 10, and Epic Games with nine.
The 2023 Video Game Awards will be live-streamed from the Peacock Theater in L.A. on Thursday, December 7 across more than 30 platforms including YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, TikTok Live, and X (formerly Twitter). In addition to announcing the winners of this year’s awards, the event will also feature premiere announcements and trailers, live performances and appearances, and more.
Fans can help choose the winners in all categories through online voting on The Game Awards website through December 6 at 6 p.m. PST, as well as on the official Discord server where a live watch party will take place December 7.
