Peacock released a trailer for its upcoming original film Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie. It has been 14 years since we have seen the detective with OCD Adrian Monk in action solving cases. This film follows Monk as he solves a case close to home when his step-daughter’s fiancé is murdered just before the wedding and Monk is asked to investigate. When we last saw Monk, he had his OCD was under control, but with the COVID pandemic, Monk’s OCD and germ fears have returned and are now worse than ever. Monk must adapt to this new normal while struggling with his idiosyncrasies and solving this complicated murder.
Returning as Adrian Monk is Tony Shalhoub, with Traylor Howard as Natalie Teeger, Ted Levine as Captain Leland Stottlemeyer, Jason Gray-Stanford as Lieutenant Randy Disher, Melora Hardin as Trudy Monk, and Hector Elizondo as Dr. Neven Bell. Joining the returning cast for this new adventure is Caitlin McGee and James Purefoy. Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie is directed by Randy Zisk, who also serves as executive producer along with David Hoberman and writer Andy Breckman.
