WWE NXT Women’s Championship Rematch Set for WWE NXT No Mercy
On the September 12 episode of WWE NXT, Tiffany Stratton defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch in a losing effort. The loss cemented Lynch as a grand slam champion for the first time in her decorated career.
Now the two women will face off in a rematch at WWE NXT No Mercy. On Tuesday night’s episode of NXT, Lynch celebrated her title win in the ring and gave a run down of potential challengers when Stratton interrupted. Stratton made it known she wants her rematch as soon as possible and then rescinded the challenge by joking that she needs to beat another WWE Hall of Famer to keep herself relevant. Stratton and Lynch began going after each other when Kiana James came to the former champion’s aid causing a handicap situation.
Lynch challenged them to a handicap match later that night but Lyra Valkyrie helped even the odds when the two blindsided Lynch by beating her up before the bell. Declaring it a tag match, Valkyrie and Lynch came out on top but not without Lynch letting Stratton know she accepts her challenge for NXT No Mercy but it’s going to be an Extreme Rules match.
NXT No Mercy airs on September 30 at 8 p.m. EST on Peacock.
