Netflix has released the official trailer for Mike Flanagan’s next and last series for the streamer, The Fall of the House of Usher.

The eight-episode series, inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe, receives its title from the short story of the same name originally published in 1893. Flanagan, the horror giant behind other terrifying Netflix series such as Midnight Mass, describes the limited series as a “modern remix” of some of Poe’s most well-known stories. Based on the trailer, the series certainly takes on a Succession meets Poe vibe.

The limited series follows siblings Roderick (Bruce Greenwood) and Madeline Usher (Mary McDonnell), who have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire. However, as is often the case in Poe’s works, past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.

Flanagan is the writer for the fifth series under Intrepid Films for Netflix following the success of The Haunting of Hill HouseThe Haunting of Bly ManorMidnight Mass, and The Midnight Club. In addition to writing, Flanagan directs half of the series’ episodes, with frequent collaborator Michael Fimognari directing the other half. This series is the last that will premiere on Netflix — going forward, Flanagan has a deal with Prime Video.

The cast also includes Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill, Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, Paola Nuñez, Henry Thomas, Kyleigh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Willa Fitzgerald, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Aya Furukawa, Daniel Jun, Matt Biedel, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish, Igby Rigney, and Robert Longstreet.
