Grab a margarita — the season 3 trailer for Sweet Magnolias is here!
The trailer opens with a shot of Serenity. “New relationships and new challenges are good for the soul,” Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) says in a voiceover. This season, the Serenity citizens are undergoing a lot of change — Maddie is working to help Cal (Justin Bruening) while also trying to balance co-parenting again with Bill (Chris Klein). For Noreen, she’s trying her best to move on but as she says, “I let go of my past but it is hanging onto me.”
Dana Sue (Brooke Elliot) is searching for a way to use Miss Frances’ check to help the community without upending her family. However, she’s also trying to move on from Ronnie (Brandon Quinn). “Forgiving Ronnie for his mistakes means forgiving myself too. We’re still finding our footing, but we are back in the groove in all the important ways,” Dana Sue says over margaritas with the girls.
Helen (Heather Headley), meanwhile, is still struggling to get on and off again love interest Ryan Wingate (Michael Shenefelt) to commit to her. “I make a difference here,” an impassioned Helen says. “This is a side trip for you, but this is my home. I need you to commit too.” In a conversation with Dana Sue, it seems like a love triangle could be brewing between Helen, Erik Whitley (Dion Johnstone), and Ryan that will force Helen to make a commitment of her own.
It looks like the kids are facing challenges over their own — Tyler Townsend (Carson Rowland) says he has more things he wants to do and explore. In a quick clip, he watches on as Annie (Anneliese Judge) and Jackson (Sam Ashby) kiss.
Season 3 of Sweet Magnolias premieres July 20 on Netflix.
