Today it was announced that the popular YA Paramount+ series School Spirits has been renewed for a second season. Debuting earlier this year to immense praise, the eight-episode premiere season ranked as the top YA series on the service during its run. Season 2 of School Spirits is set to go into production in 2024.

School Spirits has captivated audiences with its gripping storyline, engaging characters and the enigmatic world of high school life, and we are thrilled to bring a second season to this loyal fan base across Paramount+,” said Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin, Executive Vice Presidents and Co-Heads at Nickelodeon and Awesomeness live-action series and films. “Maddie’s quest to unravel the truth behind her mysterious disappearance has resonated with viewers, and we can’t wait to continue this thrilling journey with them.”

Based on the upcoming graphic novel by Nate and Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen releasing in 2024, season 1 centers around Split River High senior Maddie (Peyton List), who, after suffering a mysterious death, is stuck in the afterlife. Rightfully suspicious, Maddie investigates her disappearance, which puts some of the closest people to her in the crossfire as potential suspects. She bands together a rag-tag group of ghosts from the Split River support group to help her uncover the secrets and the lies that lie in the halls.
