The second season of Prime Video’s hit series based on Jenny Han’s hit The Summer I Turned Pretty books is nearly here! In a surprise behind-the-scenes video posted to the show’s social media, the cast spilled the beans on when we can expect the highly anticipated second season.
The video, which you can check out below, features a comedy of errors that accidentally announces both The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s season two release dates and the season’s episode titles. Unlike season one which was released in its entirety on the same day, season two will kick off with a three-episode release of “Love Lost”, “Love Scene” and “Love Sick” on July 14. The show will then move to a weekly Friday release schedule with “Love Game” dropping on July 21, “Love Fool” on July 28, “Love Fest” on August 4, “Love Affair” on August 11, and wrapping up with “Love Triangle” on August 18.
Picking up after the emotional conclusion of the first season, the second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty will follow the events of It’s Not Summer Without You, the second book in Han’s Summer series.
From Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) facing the difficult choice between her two best boys, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno), to dealing with the fallout of discovering that the boys’ mother Susannah’s (Rachel Blanchard) cancer has returned, season two is set to be an emotional adventure from the start.
The majority of the original cast members will return for this emotional journey, with Sean Kaufman (Steven), Jackie Chung (Laurel), and David Iacono (Cam) joining Tung, Briney, Casalegno, and Blanchard to reprise their roles. However, the new season also adds new faces Kyra Sedgwick and Elsie Fisher in yet-to-be-named recurring roles.
