Prime Video has picked up We Were Liars for a full season! The series is based on the best-selling novel by E. Lockhart, which follows the lies and scandals of one rich New England family through the years. The novel was first published in 2014 and has gained a cult following over the years, especially on TikTok. Prequel Family of Liars was released in 2022.

“A beautiful and distinguished family. A private island. A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy. A group of four friends — the Liars — whose friendship turns destructive. A revolution. An accident. A secret. Lies upon lies. True love. The truth. Read it. And if anyone asks you how it ends, just lie.”

The project will be created by Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie, who previously produced and created Roswell, New Mexico. There is no word yet on a premiere date or casting.
