It’s official — Apple’s Shrinking will be back for season 2.
Starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford (who is the definition of an absolute delight in one of his first television roles), Shrinking follows grieving therapist Jimmy (played by Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own. In addition to Segel and Ford (Paul), the series stars Jessica Williams (Gaby), Christa Miller (Liz), Lukita Maxwell (Alice), Michael Urie (Brian), and Luke Tennie (Sean).
It should come as no surprise that Shrinking is co-created by Ted Lasso executive producer Bill Lawrence, Ted Lasso star, writer, and co-executive producer Brett Goldstein, and Segel — given that the two shows each offer up peak comedy and meaningful, heartwarming stories in equal measure.
“We have loved the engaging, touching and hilarious world of Shrinking since the beginning, and it has been wonderful to watch as audiences around the world continue to connect with these big-hearted characters,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. “We can’t wait for viewers to experience what the cast and creative team have for season 2.”
Catch a new episode of Shrinking exclusively on Apple TV+ this Friday (three episodes remain in its sophomore season).
