In a somewhat surprising move, the creator of Succession has revealed that its fourth season will be its last. In an interview with the New Yorker, Jesse Armstrong confirmed that the next run of episodes premiering in one month will be the last for the series. Succession has been critically acclaimed since its premiere in 2018, with ratings and audience buzz to match its awards haul.

While Armstrong had teased in the past that the show would likely end sooner rather than later, this announcement still comes as a surprise. Succession recently received 25 nominations at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, winning four prizes including Outstanding Drama Series.

Succession returns on March 26 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
