‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ to Headline SXSW

Today, South by Southwest revealed the first wave of the SXSW festival lineup, including Feature and Short Competitions, Midnighters, select titles from other categories, and XR Experience.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was also revealed as this year’s opening night film. The film follows a charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers who undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people.

The cast includes Chris Pine as a Bard, Michelle Rodriguez as a Barbarian, Regé-Jean Page as a Paladin, Justice Smith as a Sorcerer, Sophia Lillis as Doric, a Druid, and Hugh Grant as the main villain Forge Fletcher. The film is directed and written by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley with Michael Gilio also serving as a screenwriter.

The SXSW Film and Television Festival takes place from March 10-19, 2023. Badges are currently available for purchase. A price increase will take place after February 2 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
