‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ Rounds Out Cast With William H. Macy

Deadline has announced that the latest installment of the Planet of the Apes franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, has rounded out its cast. William H. Macy (Shameless) is the latest addition to the ensemble cast. He joins Freya Allan, Owen Teague, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, Travis Jeffery, Neil Sandilands, Sara Wiseman, Ras-Samuel Welda’abzgi, and Lydia Peckham.
There’s no word on who Macy or the others will play, and plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being. However, Kingdom is set to take place several years following War for the Planet of the Apes. 20th Century Studios shared that the film will usher in a new chapter for the franchise.
The film is written by Josh Friedman, Patrick Aison, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Jaffa, Silver, Joe Hartwick Jr., and Jason Reed produce, with Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping as executive producers.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is currently aiming for a 2024 release date.
