Actor Garrett Hedlund (Mudbound, Triple Frontier) continues to expand upon his music career with the release of two new tracks today.
The first is a new version of his song “Tulsa Night,” which has now been turned into a beautiful duet with country singer and songwriter Caitlin Rose (who recently released her first new album in nearly a decade — CAZIMI). The track was co-written with Casey McGrath and John Goodwin.
The second is “Always Wanted To,” an emotional track that Hedlund shared the story behind in an Instagram post, citing it as the initial jumping off point for the rest of the songs he released this year following a conversation with producer Luke Wooten (who he previously worked with on Country Strong). The song is penned by Tom Douglas, Allen Shamblin, and Jordyn Shellhart and features vocals from Brennley Brown.

While Hedlund only began releasing solo music this year, his musical talents have been featured across his acting career several times over the years, starting with his starring role in Country Strong, as well as in Dirt Music and Lullaby.
Hedlund currently stars in Paramount+’s latest series from Taylor Sheridan, Tulsa King (make sure to follow along with our weekly coverage!). His other upcoming projects include the film adaptation of The Marsh King’s Daughter starring Daisy Ridley, The Tutor, and Nadine Crocker’s thriller Desperation Road.
