‘House of the Dragon’ Scores Three Critics Choice Award Nominations

The Critics Choice Association has announced the nominations for the television categories for the upcoming 28th annual Critics Choice Awards. HBO’s hit drama House of the Dragon earned three nominations, including one for Best Drama Series.

  • Best Drama Series
  • Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Matt Smith)
  • Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Milly Alcock)

The Game of Thrones prequel is set nearly 200 years before the events of the series following the Targaryen civil war with King Viserys I Targaryen’s children battling for control of the Iron Throne. The drama series has been renewed for a second season but won’t be released until 2024. Winners will be revealed live during the gala at the Fairmount Century Plaza in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET (PT will be delayed).
