Demigods, another casting announcement for the upcoming Disney+ live-action series Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been released. As reported by Variety, wrestling alum-turned-actor Adam Copeland (Vikings, The Flash), Suzanne Cryer (Silicon Valley), and Jessica Parker Kennedy (The Flash, Black Sails) have been added to the cast as Ares, Echidna, and Medusa, respectively.

Copeland’s recurring character of Ares, the god of War is described as “handsome in a wicked way and arrogant, despite not always being the sharpest tool in the shed. He loves conflict and acts as an agent of chaos wherever he goes.”

Cryer’s Echidna, The Mother of Monsters, is “dangerous, intimidating, and strangely maternal. She enjoys her task of challenging heroes and will test Percy’s faith in the gods.”

Finally, there’s Kennedy’s Medusa, the infamously cursed gorgon who can be described as “wronged by the gods and bitter. Medusa lives in isolation until travelers stumble on her emporium. She is welcoming to some and a threat to others.”

The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is set to follow the events of the book series’ first novel, The Lightning Thief. The main cast trio consists of Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), and Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood).
