FX’s upcoming new series Kindred finally has a release date! The network announced that the show will premiere on Hulu on December 13. All eight episodes of the season are set to drop at once. It will eventually become available on Star+ for Latin America and Disney+’s Star banner in other territories.

Kindred is based on the Octavia E. Butler novel of the same name. It follows Dana, a young Black woman who is abruptly transported to the antebellum South, summoned to save a young boy — and son of a plantation owner — named Rufus, who’s drowning. Though she eventually returns to her own time, Dana continues to be pulled back, with each stay becoming progressively longer, uncertain if she will ever return to her life.

The series stars Mallori Johnson, Micah Stock, Ryan Kwanten, Gayle Rankin, Austin Smith, David Alexander Kaplan, Sophina Brown, and Sheria Irving. It is written, showrun, and executive produced by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. Additional executive producers include Joe Weisberg, Joel Fields, Darren Aronofsky, and Ari Handel of Protozoa Pictures, Courtney Lee-Mitchell, Jules Jackson, and Ernestine Walker. Janicza Bravo directed and executive produced the pilot. FX Productions produced.

Kindred premieres exclusively on Hulu on December 13.
