‘Velma’ Gets First Teaser During New York Comic Con

Share:

New York Comic Con has officially begun, and on Thursday of the event, HBO Max’s new series Velma shared the first teaser of the show.

The teaser goes a bit meta as Velma (voiced by Mindy Kaling) writes a message to HBO Max expressing her disgust for an origin story the streamer intends to make. The teaser brings the eerie tone of the show to the forefront as Velma then receives a creepy phone call that doesn’t seem to end well for her.

Per HBO Max, Velma is “an adult animated comedy series telling the origin story of Velma Dinkley, the unsung and under appreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang. This original and humorous spin unmasks the complex and colorful past of one of America’s most beloved mystery solvers.”

Charlie Grandy acts as showrunner and executive producer for the show. Kaling, Sam Register, and Howard Klein executive produce. Season 1 will consist of 10 episodes and premieres sometime next year.

Stay tuned for updates as they become available and check out the teaser below:
