Happy The Last of Us Day! In celebration, HBO has released the teaser trailer for the upcoming series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
Based on the timeless video game from Naughty Dog of the same name, Pascal stars as Joel Miller, a grizzled man tasked with smuggling 14-year-old Ellie (Ramsey) out of a quarantine zone, setting them both on an emotional and trying journey as they make their way west across the states 20 years after a mutant fungus ravaged the population resulting in the destruction of modern civilization.
Along with Pascal and Ramsey, the series stars Nick Offerman, Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandridge, Nico Parker, Murray Bartlett, Jeffrey Pierce, Anna Torv, Lamar Johnson, Keivonn Woodard, Graham Greene, and Elaine Miles. Back in June, it was also announced that Joel and Ellie’s voice actors, Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, will make appearances in the show in unknown roles.
Kantemir Balagov, Jasmila Žbanić, Ali Abbasi, Peter Hoar, Jeremy Webb, and Liza Johnson will direct the series created by acclaimed video game creator Neil Druckmann and Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin.
No release date has been set but the series will premiere sometime in 2023 on HBO Max.
