The queen of high school is back. Sarah Michelle Gellar, best known for her iconic role in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, teams up with Camila Mendes (Riverdale) and Maya Hawke (Stranger Things) in a new Netflix film coming out tomorrow called Do Revenge. The film is helmed by writer and director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone Great, Thor: Love and Thunder) and aims to poke fun at the classic ’90s high school movies. Netflix just shared some photos of Sarah Michelle Gellar in action:
Per Netflix, the official synopsis reads:
“After a clandestine run-in, Drea (Alpha, fallen it girl played by Camila Mendes) and Eleanor (beta, new alt girl played by Maya Hawke) team up to go after each other’s tormentors. Do Revenge is a subverted Hitchcock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls.”
The film also stars Rish Shah, Talia Ryder, Jonathan Daviss, Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc, Alisha Boe, and Game of Thrones‘ Sophie Turner.
Camila Mendes shared a clip of Gellar in action on Twitter, and even though her role is small, fans will surely rejoice at recognizing the throwbacks to one of her other iconic roles as Kathryn Merteuil in Cruel Intentions. To say we’re excited is an understatement!
