A new generation of diabolical shenanigans is on the way with Prime Video’s upcoming spin-off show Gen V, which comes from the marvelously twisted superhero series The Boys. While minimal details about the series have been released thus far, the cast continues to grow, and the latest addition is Supernatural alum Alexander Calvert! Calvert’s role in Gen V is unknown at this time, but Calvert confirmed the news this weekend at the Supernatural convention in Washington D.C.

Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.

In addition to Calvert, the series stars Lizze Broadway, Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi.

Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as showrunners and executive producers. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and Michaela Starr serve as executive producers.

In describing Gen V, The Boys showrunner and executive producer Eric Kripke has said, “Much like Mork & Mindy spun-off from Happy Days — which is an insane and true fact — our spinoff will exist in the Vought Cinematic Universe, yet have a tone and style all its own. It’s our take on a college show, with an ensemble of fascinating, complicated, and sometimes deadly Young Supes.”
