After Rob Zombie’s announcement earlier this week that his upcoming take on The Munsters would be headed to Netflix in September, Universal Pictures dropped a second trailer for the film that includes the official release date.

Universal Pictures

Set to be released September 27, 2022, The Munsters will be available not only on Netflix, but also on Blu-ray, DVD, and to own digitally via Movies Anywhere. Plus, the Blu-ray and DVD versions will include special, exclusive bonus content and behind-the-scenes features such as an hour-long look into the making of The Munsters and feature commentary with writer/director/producer Rob Zombie.

The new trailer, which you can check out below, gives fans a glimpse into Zombie’s version of the classic monster, I mean, Munster, family. Done with a signature stylized look, Zombie sets out to give fans a look at how the Munster family came to be. Following Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily and Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster on a zany adventure of romance, the film looks at how they got to their home on Mockingbird Lane. With Daniel Roebuck’s The Count determined to put the romance to a stop, this may be a more difficult trip than expected.

With supporting cast including Roebuck, Jorge Garcia, Sylvester McCoy, Catherine Schell, Cassandra Peterson, and Tomas Boykin, plus special guest appearances from original members of The Munsters cast, Butch Patrick and Pat Priest, this will be a must-see for all Munsters fans.
