An ER doc at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital is getting a promotion! Kaley Ronayne has been upped to series regular for the upcoming sixth season of FOX’s medical drama, The Resident, according to Deadline.

Ronayne first came onboard during season 5 of the series as double-board certified ICU and ER doctor Cade Sullivan. She quickly became a potential love interest for Matt Czuchry’s Dr. Conrad Hawkins, who was still mourning the death of the love of his life, Nic Nevin (Emily VanCamp), who died in a car accident three years prior.

Ronayne’s promotion comes not long after Deadline exclusively announced that Andrew McCarthy has been upped to series regular. McCarthy came on for the final few episodes of season 5 of The Resident as Cade’s father, Dr. Ian Sullivan, a top (and egotistical) physician after Cade was shot.

Season 6 of The Resident premieres Tuesday, September 20 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on FOX, streaming the next day on Hulu. Stay tuned to more news at Nerds and Beyond!
