Paramount+ has officially announced 1923 as the new title of Taylor Sheridan’s new series.

This next Yellowstone origin story will continue the story of the Dutton family after the prequel series 1883. The series will be set in the titular year. It was previously called 1932 ‘but has now been renamed so as to include the end of World War I and the start of prohibition.

The series will follow “the Dutton family’s next two generations as they struggle to survive historic drought, lawlessness and prohibition, and an epidemic of cattle theft; all battled beneath the cloud of Montana’s great depression, which preceded the nation by almost a decade.”

1923 is set to star Helen Mirren (The Queen) and Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones). It is written and executive produced by Sheridan who has a growing catalogue of shows on Paramount+ including 1883, Mayor of Kingstown and Lioness.

The series will be released on Paramount+ in December.
