It came as a surprise when season 1 of Our Flag Means Death came to a climactic end that there was no definitive answer as to whether or not the series captained by David Jenkins, Taika Waititi and Rhys Darby would get a season 2. Thankfully, HBO has heard the pleas of many, and season 2 of the internet’s favorite gay pirate romantic-comedy has been given the green light.
The ending for season 1 certainly left a lot of room for future storytelling. Spoilers ahead for season 1.
Will Edward Teach (Waititi) and Stede Bonnet (Darby) reunite, and will Stede be able to heal Ed’s wounded heart? Did Lucius have a miraculous rescuer, or did he meet his demise at the cool grasp of the sea after the Kraken pushed him from the Revenge, attempting to rid the ship of all reminders of his beloved Stede? How severely maimed is Ed going to leave Izzy Hands in his heartbroken state? These are among many questions we hope season 2 will address.
