‘Walker: Independence’ Screening & Panel Announced for ATX TV Festival

ATX TV Festival has announced that the newly picked up series Walker: Independence will have a screening of the pilot, as well as a panel.

The screening will take place on Saturday, June 4 at the State Theatre. The panelists are still to be determined.

Set in Texas in the late 1800s, “Walker: Independence,” follows Abby Walker (Kat McNamara), an affluent Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes while making their way out West. On her quest for revenge, Abby crosses paths with Hoyt Rawlins (Matt Barr), a lovable rogue in search of purpose. Abby and Hoyt’s journey takes them to Independence, Texas, where they encounter the eclectic residents of a small town who are running from their own troubled pasts and chasing their dreams. 

The series stars Katherine McNamara, Matt Barr (who appeared in Walker as his Independence descendent by the same name), Philemon Chambers, Katie Findlay, Lawrence Kao, Greg Hovanessian, and Justin Johnson Cortez.

Jared Padalecki, Anna Fricke, Seamus Fahey, Larry Teng, Dan Lin, Lindsay Liberatore, and Laura Terry produced the series, with Teng directing the pilot episode.
