Star Wars star Felicity Jones and Bridgerton sensation Jonathan Bailey are set to lead a new comedy, Maria.

Jones will star as the titular character in a film that follows a young woman trying to escape from her reality. Trapped as she tries to accept her age, the love of her boyfriend, Eddy, played by Bailey, and her father’s (Jason Isaacs) indifference, Maria finds a spark at her father’s wedding after meeting her new stepbrother, Raffy. However, whatever inconvenient sexual chemistry is brewing between the two is cut off after her father gets diagnosed with a terminal illness.

The project is set to film in the fall of 2022 with Simon Amstell writing and directing.

Deadline was first to report the news.
