In commemoration of the third anniversary of the first anime broadcast of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba back in April 2019, fans of the series can celebrate with the Kimetsu Festival ~3rd Anniversary Celebration~ this weekend. This livestreamed, ticketed stage program will take place April 16-17 (JST).
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba originated as a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2016 to 2020. Demon Slayer follows the story of Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is murdered by demons. He joins the Demon Slayer Corps in hopes to turn his demonized sister Nezuko back into a human. The anime series launched in April 2019 with the Unwavering Resolve Arc, followed by a feature film in October 2020. The second season covered the Mugen Train Arc and the Entertainment District Arc, and the upcoming third season will feature the Swordsmith Village arc.
The weekend’s events include Kimetsu Party -Entertainment District Arc– on April 16 (JST) and Kimetsu Party -Mugen Train Arc– on April 17 (JST), which will feature a live reading of an original story and a special live dubbing performed by all-star cast voice actors. The events will be livestreamed to various countries and regions via Stagecrowd, with English and Traditional Chinese subtitles available.
