Paul Wesley Joins ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ as James T. Kirk

Big news just released for all Star Trek fans! CBS just announced that Paul Wesley is joining the season two cast of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, as the legendary James T. Kirk! The character was made famous in the original Star Trek series by William Shatner, and was later played in the Star Trek films from J.J. Abrams by Chris Pine.

Wesley is most known for his role on The Vampire Diaries, where he acted, produced, and directed.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres Thursday, May 5, and season 2 is currently in production. The series will follow Captain Pike (Anson Mount), Science Officer Spock (Ethan Peck) and Number One (Rebecca Romijn) in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.
