Nominations were revealed for the second annual Critics Choice Super Awards, which recognize films and television across the superhero, science fiction, fantasy, horror, and action genres.

Free Guy starring Ryan Reynolds and Jodie Comer brought in three Super Awards nominations across the various categories.

Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie

Best Actor in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie – Ryan Reynolds

Best Actress in a Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie – Jodie Comer

Free Guy was released on August 13, 2021, and immediately won the hearts of audiences. The movie follows video game NPC bank teller, Guy who develops free will due to his artificial intelligence programming after meeting the love of his life, Molotov Girl. There are a couple of problems though: Molotov Girl is actually Millie, a real-world person and Free City, the game in which Guy exists, is at risk of being destroyed. Guy and Millie have to go against the clock as they are hunted by Antwan and anything the video game giant can throw at them, including a CGI’d up Reynolds as Dude.

The Super Awards winners are scheduled to be announced on March 17.
