‘The Winchesters’: ‘Supernatural’ Prequel Ordered to Pilot

The CW has ordered a pilot for The Winchesters, a Supernatural prequel, per Entertainment Weekly. The prequel follows the origin story of John and Mary Winchester. The series will be executive produced by former Supernatural writer Robbie Thompson alongside Supernatural star Jensen Ackles and his wife Danneel Ackles for their production company Chaos Machine.

There is no word yet on a premiere date or cast for the series, which will focus on much younger versions of Mary and John than what we saw in the main series. Are you excited for the latest extension of the Supernatural universe? Check out a few of the reasons we’re excited here!
