Scott Cooper’s upcoming film The Pale Blue Eye has added a whopping 16 cast members to its ranks. Among them are Gillian Anderson, Lucy Boynton, Timothy Spall, Robert Duvall, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Toby Jones. They star alongside Christian Bale and Harry Melling.

Harry Lawtey, Simon McBurney, Hadley Robinson, Gideon Glick, Fred Hechinger, Matt Helm, Steven Maier, Charlie Tahan, Joey Brooks, and Brennan Cook also star.

The Pale Blue Eye is based on Louis Bayard’s novel of the same name. Set in the 1830s, it focuses on a series of murders that occur at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point. Bale plays the detective assigned to the case. He’s paired with a young cadet (Melling), who later becomes known as Edgar Allan Poe.

Cooper writes and directs. He produces alongside Bale, and Cross Creek Pictures’ John Lesher and Tyler Thompson. Dylan Weathered and Tracey Landon executive produce.

Netflix has yet to announce a release date. However, production is currently underway. Stay tuned for more updates on The Pale Blue Eye.
