First Look Footage of ‘Ms. Marvel’ Starring Iman Vellani Revealed

The first look footage of Ms. Marvel has finally been released as a part of Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney+ Day Special!
Ms. Marvel introduces audiences to a 16-year-old Pakistani American from Jersey City named Kamala Khan, who’s portrayed by Iman Vellani. She is an aspiring artist, an avid gamer, a voracious fan-fiction scribe, and she’s is a huge fan of the Avengers — particularly Captain Marvel. But Kamala has always struggled to find her place in the world — that is until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.
The series is directed by Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
The new footage opens with Kamala gazing up at a statue of Captain Marvel. In a voiceover she says, “It’s not really the brown girls from Jersey City who save the world.” Her friend Bruno Carrelli responds, “Maybe now they do.”
Ms. Marvel is coming exclusively to Disney+ next summer, in 2022.
