‘The Boys’: First Look at Laurie Holden as Crimson Countess Revealed

Laurie Holden of The Walking Dead is set to join Amazon Studios’ hit series The Boys for its upcoming third season, and the first look at her suited up in costume has finally been revealed!

Holden will portray a Supe known as Crimson Countess. In the comics, she’s a member of the superhero team Payback, which the series will explore in season 3. It’s been confirmed that the first episode is literally titled “Payback,” and we also know that another infamous member of the team will be joining the series as well — Soldier Boy, who will be portrayed by Supernatural alum Jensen Ackles.

Aya Cash’s Stormfront, who was season 2’s new big bad (well, alongside the whole reveal about Vought and Compound V), was a member of Payback in the comics as well, along with The Deep’s “friend” Eagle the Archer. Given Stormfront’s toasty state in the finale, there’s no telling if she’ll be back to stir up trouble in season 3, but it looks like the Boys will have plenty other diabolical new faces to contend with anyway.

The Boys is based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The show is set in a world where superheroes exist, but many of them fall short of the “heroic” part of their job description. Some of the worst can be found amongst The Seven, a famous superhero team working under Vought International. Meanwhile, the Boys are a ragtag crew of vigilantes fighting to take the Supes and Vought down once and for all (and doing their best not to die in the process).

The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, and more.

The Boys wrapped on filming season 3 in September, but a release date has not yet been confirmed.

In the meantime, seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming exclusively on Prime Video. Make sure to follow along with all of our coverage on the series!
