Upcoming ‘Star Wars’ Series ‘Ahsoka’ Will See Hayden Christensen Reprise Iconic Role

Share

Following the critically acclaimed success of the first live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian, a handful of others are now on the way. First announced last December, Rosario Dawson will continue to portray the live-action Ahsoka Tano in her own series — Ahsoka. Now, another exciting casting announcement for that series has been made: Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker!

While the plot details of Ahsoka are still unknown at this time, it’s been confirmed that the series is set within the timeline of The Mandalorian. If this means it’s set during the same year as the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu, Darth Vader will be long gone (as seen in Return of the Jedi).

So then will we see Anakin Skywalker in the form of flashbacks, perhaps? Ahsoka and Anakin have a lengthy history together, which was heavily detailed in the animated film and series The Clone Wars, so it feels likely. Ahsoka grew into a talented and mature leader under the tutelage of Anakin, and the Jedi Knight himself had quite a bit to learn from his headstrong Padawan.

Lucasfilm

Ahsoka will be written by Dave Filoni, who is executive producing alongside Jon Favreau.

This isn’t the only live-action Star Wars series that Christensen will be appearing in, as he’s also set to reprise his role as Darth Vader in the upcoming series Obi-Wan Kenobi alongside Ewan McGregor. (Check out the full cast here.)
