ACE Comic Con is continuing to deliver free virtual content for its fans to enjoy in these crazy times. This time, War Machine actor Don Cheadle!

Cheadle sat down with Marvel’s own Angélique Roché to chat about his incredible multi-faceted career, his fight for social justice, and how excited he is to truly introduce Colonel James Rhodes to the world as his own man and hero in Armor Wars. A few fan questions were also answered, including how he was given only two hours to decide if he’d take the role of Rhodey for a 12-year contract.

Don Cheadle most recently reprised his role as Rhodey/War Machine for a brief Emmy-nominated cameo in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. As of right now, he’ll be seen in the War Machine armor next helming his own series, Armor Wars, centered around the 7-issue comic series of the same name.

In those comics, Tony Stark discovers someone selling his tech to supervillains, and while we know that won’t be how the series itself goes, we can imagine that Rhodey will still be protecting the late Tony Stark’s legacy from someone trying to steal it. (This has big Sharon Carter/Power Broker return vibes …) The series has no release date yet, but it’s still in very early development per this chat. So far only Cheadle is confirmed to star and Black Monday writer Yassir Lester will serve as head writer.

ACE Universe is currently hosting send-in autograph signings with Shang-Chi‘s Simu Liu (ending soon!), the Winter Soldier himself Sebastian Stan, and Game of Thrones stars Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, and Kit Harington. All still have slots available so don’t miss out!
