Illumination and Nintendo have announced that a new Super Mario Bros. animated film will be hitting theaters for the 2022 holiday season!

The film will star Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike. There will also be a cameo from Charles Martinet, the iconic voice of Mario and other characters from the Super Mario video games.

Matthew Fogel of The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part and Minions: The Rise of Gru will write the script. The film will be released on December 21, 2022. Stay tuned for more news as we get it!
