‘What If…?’: See Captain Carter, Steve Rogers, and Bucky Barnes in New Clip!
With one week to go until the premiere of Marvel Studios’ upcoming animated Disney+ series What If…?, an official clip has been revealed!
What If was originally an anthology comic series published by Marvel Comics, dating back to 1977. Keeping in line with the comics, the animated show will flip the script on the Marvel Cinematic Universe by reimagining events from the films in unexpected ways … thus creating a multiverse of infinite possibilities.
The series will see the introduction of Jeffrey Wright as The Watcher, who comes from a race of cosmic beings committed to compiling knowledge and observing events that take place across the universe (without interfering).
More than 50 cast members from the MCU will be reprising their roles for What If…?, including Benedict Cumberbatch, the late Chadwick Boseman in his final Marvel performance, Chris Hemsworth, Don Cheadle, Emily VanCamp, Mark Ruffalo, Michael B. Jordan, Natalie Portman, Paul Bettany, Paul Rudd, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, and many more.
The official clip shared today, entitled “Steve,” shows Peggy Carter as the heroic Captain Carter, and she’s flanked by a World War II-era Bucky Barnes and Dum Dum Dugan. All three are voiced, respectively, by their MCU live-action counterparts — Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, and Neal McDonough.
Mid-battle, as Peggy calls for air support, the trio is surprised by who arrives on the scene: Steve Rogers, wrecking enemy tanks left and right from inside of a large, intimidating piece of Stark armor called The Hydra Stomper! Watch the clip below.
Don’t miss What If…? when it premieres exclusively on Disney+ next Wednesday, August 11, and stay tuned for our weekly coverage on the series!
